START PROCEDURE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Between 6:45 am and 7:45am, Saturday morning, all race boats will hand a license in at the gas dock. Boats will parade through the marina in a counter clockwise direction, handing a license to the designated personal on the dock.
At approximately 8am, race boats will assemble at the start line. Boats 21’ 5” and under are to line up on the left side of the imaginary starting line. All other race boats are to line up just to the right of the start line.
The start line will be an imaginary line from the start boat and the land on either side. It is suggested that boats stop at least 250 feet behind the start line so that skier and long lines can be let out and slack may be taken up without crossing the start line. Any boat crossing the start line before the flag is dropped and flare is fired, will be assessed a one hour penalty.
START OF THE RACE
At approximately 7:55am, a red flag will be raised (5 minute warning for the first wave). At approximately 7:58am, a green flag will be raised (2 minute warning for the first wave). If conditions allow, exactly 2 minutes after the red flag, a red flare will be fired and a red flag will be dropped, officially starting the race for the first wave. This yellow flag will be raised indicate the start of the (5 minute warning for the second wave). At approximately 8:03am, a green flag will be raised (2 minute warning for the second wave). If conditions allow, exactly 2 minutes after the green flag, a red flare will be fired and a green flag will be dropped, officially starting the race for the second wave.
